Description:

About the role:
Jorgensen Law has been representing Social Security disability claimants in San Diego since 2005. We are a dedicated disability practice that has helped tens of thousands of people obtain the benefits they deserve. We are looking for an attorney who is newer to practice or new to Social Security law and wants to build genuine expertise in a focused, supportive environment.

This is not a sink-or-swim position. You will work closely with firm leadership and learn this practice area from the ground up, with direct mentorship on case strategy, ALJ tendencies, medical record analysis, and hearing advocacy. Because mentorship is central to this role, we expect new attorneys to work from our San Diego office during their development period. You will have direct, daily access to firm leadership, not a Slack channel.

As you develop, you will take on your own hearing docket. Experienced attorneys at our firm carry approximately 8 hearings per week, each running 30 to 60 minutes. That is the trajectory. You will get there with support, not by being thrown in unprepared.

Our support staff gathers all medical records and maintains detailed chronologies on every case. You will learn to review that evidence, identify the theory of the case, and argue it before an Administrative Law Judge. By the time you are doing it independently, you will know how.
