The Tennessee General Assembly's Office of Legal Services (OLS) is seeking applicants for the full-time, temporary position of session law clerk. Attorneys licensed to practice in Tennessee, law school graduates, and current law school students are eligible to apply.

OLS is a nonpartisan, joint office that provides legal services to state senators and representatives. Session law clerks primarily summarize legislation introduced in the Tennessee General Assembly, and also conduct legal research and perform other legal or legislative services, under the supervision of a legislative attorney. The position begins in December 2024 and runs through adjournment of the legislative session. Session law clerks may be eligible for continued employment beyond adjournment or be considered for a full-time, permanent legislative attorney position, subject to openings and licensure at the completion of the temporary position. Session law clerks will be compensated at an hourly rate, determined by education and/or bar passage.
