Your Role:
This role joins a strong legal team led by a long-time industry legal advisor, with support from other experienced Senior Counsel. As Senior Product Counsel at A Software Development Company, you'll advise on a wide range of issues, including crypto-product development, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. As stewards of responsible innovation, our legal team plays a critical role in ensuring that A Software Development Company continues to develop impactful technology while adhering to global legal standards.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Report to the CLO, and act as the primary legal advisor for product teams across the A Software Development Company ecosystem, guiding them through development, launch, and scaling
  • Provide proactive legal and regulatory advice related to blockchain products, including regulatory assessment, risk assessment, privacy, consumer protection, and IP strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, compliance, and business teams to ensure product alignment with legal frameworks
  • Coordinate with external counsel to obtain specialized legal advice, and manage internal fact-finding to build strong understanding of technical and business operations
  • Monitor regulatory developments relevant to web3 and blockchain products, and translate them into actionable guidance for product teams

What You'll Need:
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active admission to at least one U.S. state bar
  • 5+ years of combined experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department, including crypto practice
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience advising on product legal matters at a crypto / web3 company
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects across legal disciplines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Deep experience in web3 and blockchain technologies, with a strong grasp of the underlying product and legal implications
  • Experience counseling on legal issues such as privacy, data security, consumer protection, and intellectual property in a product context
  • Familiarity with blockchain legal issues (e.g., smart contracts, decentralized infrastructure, DAOs)
  • A flexible, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to assess risk and think creatively in an uncertain regulatory environment
