Position Open: Senior Litigation Attorney
Experienced legal practitioner responsible for overseeing and managing an extensive litigation docket. They should be able to navigate various legal disputes, conduct thorough research, and craft effective legal strategies to advocate for their clients' interests.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Manage a significant caseload of litigation matters from initial Client consultation to settlement or trial. Develop and implement legal strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes for Clients. Manage all deadlines and Client expectations.
- Client Consultation: Provide legal advice to Clients, advise them on legal options, potential risks, and outcomes. Maintain strong Client relationships and communicate timely and effectively throughout the litigation process.
- Draft and Research: Draft, research, and format legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
- Discovery: Actively engage in discovery process, which includes propounding written discovery appropriate for each case; prepare objections if necessary and working with Client to respond to written discovery in a timely manner. Conduct and defend depositions, including proper preparation of all Clients prior to depositions.
- Court Appearance: Represent Clients in court proceedings, such as hearings, arbitrations, and/or trial.
- Alternate Dispute Resolution: Work with Clients to negotiate and attend Mediation. Prepare Mediation statements and advise Clients regarding recovery.
- Legal Updates: Stay current with legal developments and changes in law that may impact ongoing cases and provide guidance to Clients and colleagues.
- Client Development: Contribute to business development efforts by attracting new litigation Clients and expanding the firm's Client base.
- Supervision: Assign tasks to Paralegal or Legal Assistant and support staff.
- Billing and records: Keep accurate records of billable hours and expenses for Clients and ensuring compliance with ethical and professional standards.

Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor Degree
- Texas Bar Admission
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a litigation attorney with a proven track record of handling complex cases and a deep understanding of the rules and procedures associated with court proceedings.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs.
