Position Overview:As Senior Legal Counsel for Wholesale Solutions, you'll provide trusted legal guidance to senior business leaders across our Excess & Surplus and Programs teams. You'll combine deep expertise in surplus lines insurance, policy drafting, and regulatory matters to deliver practical legal solutions that differentiate AXA XL in the market. Your work shapes the future of our Wholesale Solutions business in North America by advising underwriters, clients, and brokers on complex insurance matters and driving innovation through thoughtful legal counsel.
What you will be doing:
- Serve as trusted legal adviser to senior business unit leaders and executives by providing expert guidance on surplus lines insurance products, services, and industry practices across multiple business lines and disciplines
- Support delegated authority arrangements by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating producer agreements, program administration agreements, and contingent commission agreements across all business lines
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of insurance and non-insurance legal agreements, applying practical commercial solutions to complex contractual matters
- Provide legal and technical expertise to the Wholesale Underwriting Team on policy forms and manuscript endorsements by reviewing existing and new products, analyzing policy language, and delivering timely advice focused on commercial outcomes
- Drive product innovation by working closely with key stakeholders to support new insurance products, enhance existing offerings, and shape the AXA XL brand in the market
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration by engaging colleagues at all levels, encouraging creative problem-solving, and mentoring team members to develop their legal and business acumen
