Inspire Brands is a global, private equity sponsored company that operates a portfolio of distinct, category-defining brands representing 32,000 restaurants across multiple day parts and dining occasions. This newly created position will provide legal and strategic counseling to members of Inspire Brands' Supply Chain vertical and its overall leadership team. The work will include supporting supply chain enhancement, distribution, culinary development, IP protection, risk management, and related procurement initiatives across our portfolio of restaurant brands. The result of your work will be evident in the enhancement of a quality-filled and value laden supply chain that serves the needs of our franchisees while maintaining continuity of supply.

As a valued team member, you will work closely with our internal teams, outside law firms, and service providers while you provide thoughtful legal and business-centric solutions for complex and diverse issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the negotiation, drafting, execution and closing of key commercial projects that support Inspire's supply chain. Day -to-day work will include a wide variety of agreements, including vendor, supplier, distribution, and services agreements each of which you will independently manage.
  • Provide subject matter guidance to senior Inspire executives and legal leadership on operational and strategic decisions; work with leadership on completing transformational transactional objectives; seek process improvements and added efficiencies in the legal shared services organization.
  • Provide advice and counsel to cross functional teams in support of business and objectives, including developing strategies for handling legal issues and building processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
  • Work with Inspire business teams to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration among Inspire supply chain, procurement, distribution, quality, regulatory, brand, finance, IT, HR, compliance, and innovation teams.
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing outside counsel and paralegals in connection with related matters..
  • Ensure that standard forms of Inspire Brands' legal documents are updated from time to time to reflect best practices and provide expert guidance.

Education and Experience Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school. Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the U.S.
  • 6-8 years of practice in a law firm or corporation representing public and/or private companies with respect to supply chain, procurement, distribution and complex transactional matters.
  • Proven record of effectively counseling business teams, influencing leaders, communicating effectively, and managing diverse priorities in a complex organization. .

Required Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
  • Detailed knowledge of, and competence in advising clients with respect to, complex commercial agreements, with an emphasis on facilitating transactions with key vendors and suppliers.
  • Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating definitive agreements and related documents customary in supply chain and procurement transactions, including transactional, licensing, vendor, supplier, distribution and services agreements from start to finish with limited supervision.
  • Displays excellent written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and clearly communicating legal strategies and requirements to/for non-lawyer colleagues.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in commercial legal matters related to a global enterprise with multiple brands, units and locations.
  • Ability to integrate and balance priorities for the benefit of multiple internal clients.
  • Ability to understand key drivers of the supply chain function.
  • Ability to lead cross functional projects/teams to impact long-term legal strategies.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and exercise independent judgment with respect to highly complex projects, contracts, and transactions in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Awareness of material regulatory matters impacting supply chain such as sustainability, traceability, import regulations, and required product disclosure.
