Success is measured by how effectively and efficiently the Legal team empowers others throughout TRM to make complex decisions in the best interests of the company.

The impact you'll have here:
  • Provide legal, operational, and strategic advice to our cutting-edge Blockchain Intelligence teams, including with respect to data collection methods and practices.
  • Advise and support our global Law Enforcement Relations team with respect to subpoenas, expert witness testimony, and other projects.
  • Provide litigation and regulatory support across the global enterprise, including advising on evidentiary issues, product issues, AI, sales, privacy, and employment.
  • Assist on other legal matters impacting the Company as necessary.

What We're Looking For:
  • At least 6-8 years' prior experience working in a government agency, at a reputable law firm, or in-house. Tech or web3/blockchain industry experience is helpful but not required.
  • Experience handling litigation and regulatory matters, including advising non-attorney clients on compliance with fast-moving global legal requirements, engaging with law enforcement and government actors around the world, and mitigating/resolving potential disputes.
  • Experience with criminal and civil law matters, including advising non-attorney clients on compliance with applicable laws and on-the-ground operational matters.
  • Effective communicator, able to own and manage cross-functional projects, willing to learn, and humble, with a sense of humor.
  • Must be service-oriented and client-friendly in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up environment. A successful candidate will need to meet tight deadlines and properly manage client expectations while juggling multiple priorities.
  • Must have executive presence to successfully negotiate with external partners, outside counsel, internal and external clients, etc.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school, with active bar membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
