Position Summary:
The Senior Legal Counsel is an experienced, practical and business minded member of the compliance team .The role will be responsible fora variety of business legal matters in a varied industry, working closely with outside counsel, the compliance team, and other departments within ClearCaptions.

The Senior Legal Counsel, will work on a wide range of business legal matters associated with all aspects of telecommunications including state and federal regulatory issues, contract review and negotiation, privacy policies.

This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to the Chief Regulatory & Compliance Officer.

What you will do:

• Provide strategic and accurate legal advice to executive leadership and various departments to support business objectives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents and contracts with third parties.
• Advise on and ensure adherence to applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Assess and mitigate legal risks for the organization.
• Coordinate and manage third-party law firms.
• Manage the Company's Consumer focused policies and agreements including the Privacy Policy, CCPA, DOPPA and Terms of Use agreements.
• Oversee litigation and dispute resolution.
• Stay up to date with changes to legislation, particularly in relation to laws, rules and regulations that directly affect ClearCaptions.
• Support compliance programs to safeguard organizational practices.
• Liaise with external counsel for specialized legal support.
• Review and update company policies and operational procedures to ensure legal compliance.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree.
• Bar admission in good standing, licensed to practice in one or more states.
• 10 years of combined experience in a law firm and/or as in-house counsel.
• Must be able to multi-task in a challenging, fast-paced work environment.
• Proactive, energetic self-starter and independent thinker.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies.
• Strong time management and organizational skills and able to meet deadlines.
• Respectful and outstanding leadership skills that motivates colleagues to focus their energy on achieving business goals.
• Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and tactical operational levels. Works to achieve goals while overcoming obstacles and/or planning for contingencies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated ability to use discretion, make sound decisions, and maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible hours and travel (up to 10%);will include some overnight travel.
• Proficient in MS Office, modern communication tools for virtual teams (i.e., MS Teams).

Physical Demands:
Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time:  

• Sitting, standing, and walking (95-100%)   
• Keyboarding (70-90%)   
• Viewing computer monitor, tablet, and cell phone requiring close vision (70-90%)  

Work Environment: 
100% Remote: Work environment is at home.

Remote with Travel:  Work environment is primarily indoors at home, customer or vendor site, or other business meeting venue; exposure to all types of weather and temperature conditions during travel, and exposure to hazardous driving and traffic conditions.

Compensation:
$175,000 to $195,000/yr plus 18% bonus determined by competitive market analysis and internal equity considerations. Final compensation will be based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and business needs.
