About the role:Primarily responsible for assisting the VP & Deputy General Counsel with regulatory analysis and interpretation, while supporting the Operational Business Units (BU) in the management of regulatory affairs, providing strategic legal advice related to all lines of business (health, P&C, life). Leads the interaction with federal and local regulatory agencies, regulatory submissions, and legal proceedings. Responsible for managing highly complex consultations from BU and/or clients on multiple matters, as well as advise and assists in contract drafting, review and negotiation. Balances risk with business imperatives, works closely with the VP & Deputy General Counsel and litigation counsels in developing strategy for administrative proceedings and litigation and in ensuring regulatory compliance. Provides rapid, practical, business-oriented legal/regulatory support and advice primarily to the managed care subsidiaries, as well as other duties as assigned.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct legal research and develop legal memoranda.
- Provides rapid, practical, business-oriented legal and regulatory support to the operation.
- Provides support for strategic projects and strategic legal advice to TSM and the BU.
- Represents company in administrative proceedings and investigations.
- Assists in contract drafting, review and negotiation.
- As a senior counsel, provides leadership through supervising and mentoring other attorneys and legal support staff within the Office of Legal Affairs.
What You'll Bring
Juris
Doctor from accredited Law School -15 or more years of practice.
Admitted to practice of law in Puerto Rico (in good standing)
