About the Team:
Our Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok's innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the team. The Global Employment Law team provides strategic and practical legal advice to Human Resources and business stakeholders globally, and handles litigation matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates. This role is for a senior level employment lawyer with broad experience advising on employment law matters around the globe. The following describes the responsibilities and requirements for the role.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and global business stakeholders to help inform global strategy and build global policies and practices (including HR Ops/ER/Mobility, Ethics, HR Compliance)
  • Manage strategic global employment law projects, including collaboration with regional employment lawyers and SMEs
  • Serve as a strong contributor on legal compliance matters relating to employment issues
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance relating to employment issues for new business lines and markets globally
  • Manage all aspects of global employment disputes, as needed, including e-discovery, fact-finding and analysis, witness preparation, depositions, case management conferences, motion practice, and arbitration or trial preparation and presentation
  • Create and lead training on global employment law issues

  • Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) with membership in good standing in a US State Bar
  • 15 plus years of employment law experience in private practice with a highly regarded firm and a corporate legal department. Global employment law experience required
  • Proven ability navigating global employment law issues in various regions, including experience with works councils and legal consultation obligations, global investigations, global mobility issues, and global HR compliance issues
  • Experience handling employment litigation matters in multiple jurisdictions, including retaining and managing outside counsel to ensure that all aspects of the company's legal representation are of the highest quality, and representing multi-national companies involved in complex disputes with outstanding outcomes
  • Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work as a team player who can effectively collaborate with colleagues from the Global Legal team and business stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, including exceptional legal writing skills and the ability to craft persuasive and concise briefs

Job Information:

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $266000 - $383040 annually.?

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.?
