These core values and our participant-focus lead the way no matter what.Reporting to the General Counsel, the Senior Employment & Litigation Counsel will serve as WelbeHealth's legal leader for all litigation and employment-related matters. This role is accountable for developing and executing proactive strategies that mitigate risk, promote compliance, and support operations.
This role is different because the Senior Employment & Litigation Counsel at WelbeHealth:
- Serves as the organization's primary legal advisor on employment law, providing strategic counsel to executive leadership on complex workforce matters, litigation risk, regulatory compliance, and employment-related business decisions across a growing, multi-state healthcare organization
- Plays a critical role in advancing WelbeHealth's mission by proactively managing risk, leading sensitive investigations, overseeing litigation strategy, and partnering with leaders to foster a compliant, equitable, and people-centered workplace culture that supports both our team members and the vulnerable seniors we serve

- Lead and execute on WelbeHealth's employment legal strategy in support of a diverse workforce and multi-state operations, as well as serve as the lead legal advisor on all employment litigation and pre-litigation matters from intake through resolution
- Manage all claims and disputes brought by third parties, as well as oversee sensitive internal investigations involving employee complaints and regulatory exposure
- Maintain current knowledge of key federal and state employment law, as well as provide legal advice on federal and state employment regulatory matters
- Develop and implement strategies and tools designed to minimize employment-related litigation risk
- Draft employment related documents, such as policies, separation agreements, and arbitration agreements, as well as lead employment-law readiness for entry into new states
- Support training initiatives for team members on compliance, risk awareness and preventative practices
- Work directly with outside counsel on issues requiring specialized legal consultation
- J.D. from an accredited institution; state bar passage and in good standing
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney (law firm and in-house experience are strongly preferred)
- Significant knowledge of relevant employment laws
- Proven ability to lead complex litigation and negotiations with minimum oversight
- Ability to proactively anticipate and identify legal issues and develop strategies and solutions to address such issues
- Experience leading in a data-driven organization, leveraging reports and data to prioritize and manage people and projects
- Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime
