The Senior eDiscovery Attorney is responsible for providing expertise and leadership with respect to eDiscovery aspects of cases:
  • Works with case teams and clients to plan and execute eDiscovery strategy.
  • Plans and oversees document collection, review, and production.
  • Liaises between eDiscovery vendors, clients, and case teams.
  • Manages all aspects of document reviews, creation of privilege logs, and quality control processes.
  • Performs hands-on QC review and analysis of document populations in preparation for production.
  • Assists with advocacy review, deposition preparation, and other document-related support for assigned cases as needed.
  • Prepares eDiscovery budgets.
  • Negotiates rates and terms with eDiscovery vendors.
  • Leads or co-leads custodian interviews.
  • Helps determine document collection scope and process.
  • Drafts and negotiates TAR Protocols, ESI Protocols, Search Disclosures, Confidentiality Orders, Discovery Timelines, and Scope Agreements with opposing parties and joint defense groups.
  • Participates in and/or leads meet and confers with opposing parties/agencies on eDiscovery related topics.
  • Drafts and/or edits Responses and Objections to RFPs and subpoenas.
  • Researches case law in various jurisdictions to support discovery motion practice.
  • Works with vendors and clients on collections of emerging data sources.
  • Drafts or edits eDiscovery correspondence with opposing parties and government agencies.
  • Advises eDiscovery Attorneys on matters, including best practices and troubleshooting.
  • Educates Axinn's attorneys, including the eDiscovery group, about eDiscovery case law, rules, best practices, and other areas relating to eDiscovery.
  • Stays up to date on new trends and best practices in eDiscovery.
  • Works on special projects as the needs of the eDiscovery team or firm management require.
  • Minimal travel is required and more than 35 hours per week is often needed to perform the essential duties of the position.

Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • JD and at least 10 years of eDiscovery experience.
  • Proven track record in managing complex eDiscovery projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of the eDiscovery lifecycle from information governance to production, including the various technologies and strategies employed throughout the process.
  • Demonstrated ability to confer with government agencies or opposing parties with respect to eDiscovery matters.
  • Experience with Second Requests and complex high-stakes litigations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Relativity and analytics tools, including TAR and genAI tools.
  • Solid understanding of privilege and work product doctrines.
  • Knowledge of privacy and cross-border issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to present information to partners, clients, and adverse parties clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under high pressure and meet deadlines without supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders at all levels and handle competing demands and deadlines.
  • Must handle a high volume of communications in a timely manner.
