What We're Looking For:
We are seeking a validated, strategic eDiscovery litigator with strong Legal Tech skills and demonstrated experience maximising sophisticated eDiscovery and information management matters. This leader will be in a position to make a significant impact at Lilly and sit in the driver's seat for strategic change. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10+ years in complex litigation and eDiscovery, with a consistent track record of success in high-stakes cases.
- Case Work Experience: A minimum of 8 years in supporting complex litigation and eDiscovery, with a consistent record of success in high-stakes cases.
- eDiscovery Expertise: Deep knowledge of eDiscovery processes, including data collection, preservation, review, and production. Extensive experience and understanding of sophisticated eDiscovery strategies, tools and technologies is a must.
- Leadership Prowess: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, mentor and develop others, and drive strategic direction and outcomes.
- Strategic Vision: A strategic problem solver who can develop and implement innovative eDiscovery and information management strategies that align with our company's goals.
- Technical Savvy: Proficiency in employing pioneering technologies to enhance eDiscovery practices. Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in legal contexts is critical.
- Regulatory Acuity: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance issues related to data management issues applicable to a pharmaceutical company.
- Exceptional Communication: Outstanding communication and the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with collaborators at all levels and across teams.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A creative problem solver who can navigate sophisticated legal challenges and deliver results under pressure.
- Global Perspective: Experience working in a global environment and leading cross-border litigation and eDiscovery projects with demonstrated success.
- Passion for Innovation: A forward-thinking perspective with a passion for driving innovation and continuous improvement in legal practices. Someone who adopts change through technological innovation and adoption.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's and a J.D. degree
- Active license to practice law in at least one of the fifty states.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney, including at least 8 years of experience primarily focused in litigation strategy, eDiscovery and information management.
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Experience leading litigation strategy and employing eDiscovery and information management tactics in sophisticated, multi-national matters.
- Thought leadership in litigation strategy, eDiscovery and/or information management in the legal community.
- Deep experience working at a multi-national law firm advising clients on litigation strategy, eDiscovery and information management matters.
- Strong executive presence and the ability to influence leaders across the organization.
- Ability to research, track, and turn regulations and enforcement trends into practical, actionable advice.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills with corporate business partners and/or clients, including the ability to work closely with legal, information technology, compliance and security teammates and a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities.
- Highly motivated and collaborative partner with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and members of management across all levels of the company.
- Sound judgment and a meticulous level of attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence others.
- Demonstrated commitment to expand knowledge and adapt to the changing environment.
- Comfortable operating with a sense of urgency and ability to lead opposing priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
