An American Production Company Based in Santa Monica, California is looking for a Senior Counsel, Technology & Privacy to join the Legal team supporting all divisions at An American Production Company Based in Santa Monica, California. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience preferably at a top tier law firm or large in-house organization drafting and negotiating technology licenses and media vendor agreements, reviewing and negotiating data privacy agreements, assistance with maintenance and updates of website terms of use and privacy policies for the organization as well as for individual gaming offerings. The ability to identify, assess and resolve information security and data privacy legal issues as part of third-party vendor agreements and related corporate best practices; and has stellar organization skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

The role will require the ability to apply a commercial, common-sense approach to the work at hand while also maintaining attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently while also being collaborative in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate, draft and manage the Company's portfolio of software and technology-related vendor and third-party licensing agreements.
  • Draft, manage and maintain terms of use, privacy policies and other guidelines and user-facing documents for the Company's websites and individual gaming properties.
  • Review and negotiate data protection agreements on behalf of the Company and assist with privacy impact assessments and data mapping.
  • Work across divisions as one of the legal team's representatives for managing agreement negotiations, collaborating with information security to ensure compliance with policies and procedures for data privacy/information security; and for maintaining a cohesive third party vendor management depository and database from the legal perspective.
  • Serve as the Company's point person for take-down notices and related enforcement activities against third-parties misappropriating and otherwise violating the Company's intellectual property.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor Degree.
  • Member in good standing of the California bar (or ability to qualify as a Registered In-House Counsel in California) .
  • 6+ years of experience, with at least 4+ years experience at a top tier law firm. In-house experience handling technology transactions is a bonus.
  • Excellent ability to draft for cutting edge legal transactions preferred.
  • Strong project management, time management, and long-term planning skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently through demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
