Job Summary:The Senior Counsel will provide expert legal advice and guidance to the organization on a wide range of legal issues. The Senior Counsel will work closely with various departments, primarily Regulatory, to support business objectives. This role may involve drafting and negotiating contracts; drafting testimony, discovery requests and responses, pleadings, and briefs; managing legal risks; and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Senior Counsel may also represent the company in legal proceedings and meetings with external parties.
Job Description:
What You'll Do:
- Represent Public Service Company of Oklahoma in proceedings before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.
- Provide strategic legal advice on business initiatives.
- Lead contract negotiations for major projects and provide strategic legal advice on business initiatives.
- Oversee compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements from agencies such as the FERC and state public utility commissions.
- Represent regulated subsidiaries in proceedings before federal or state regulatory agencies.
- Manage litigation processes and coordinate with outside legal counsel on significant disputes.
- Develop training and compliance programs for employees related to industry regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of legal strategies with business objectives.
What We're Looking For:
Senior Counsel Grade 10:
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited US law school

- 5+ years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department and in the electric utility or energy sector.

7+ years of legal experience, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department and in the electric utility or energy sector.
