Description:
Position Summary...This Senior Counsel role will primarily support Walmart's Facility Services and Construction activities across its U.S. portfolio, including maintenance and repair programs, remodels, capital projects, vendor and contractor relationships, and new construction. The role will also support general real estate transactions involving retail, industrial, and corporate properties.
You will provide practical, business-focused legal guidance; draft and negotiate a broad range of services, construction, procurement, technology, and real estate agreements; advise on operational risks; and build cross-functional partnerships to resolve complex legal issues. Success requires the ability to move seamlessly between high-volume, day-to-day matters and strategic initiatives with significant enterprise impact.
About the Team:
The Walmart Realty Legal Center of Excellence partners with business leaders to support Walmart Realty that enables Walmart and Sam's Club operations. The team provides strategic legal counsel across real estate, facility services, construction, and related transactions, including acquisitions, leasing, development, and regulatory compliance.
Team members collaborate with Realty, Operations, Procurement, Compliance, Finance, and other partners to develop scalable solutions that effectively manage legal and commercial risks. Combining deep legal expertise with a practical, business-focused approach, the team serves as a trusted advisor throughout the lifecycle of Walmart's facilities, construction projects, and real estate transactions.

Leading cross-functional teams
- Serve as a legal advisor to Walmart Facility Services and Construction on maintenance and repair programs, remodels, capital projects, new construction, and related operations.
- Draft and negotiate services, construction, design, procurement, technology, and other project-related agreements.
- Advise on scope, pricing, change orders, schedules, performance standards, warranties, payments, liens, insurance, indemnification, subcontracting, termination, and dispute resolution.
- Counsel business partners on contractor and trade licensing, permitting, safety, environmental, accessibility, and other regulatory requirements.
- Advise on vendor performance, emergency work, payment disputes, construction defects, claims, and other operational or project-related matters.
- Support acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development, easements, title and survey review, due diligence, and closings.
- Significant experience in facility operations, construction law, commercial contracting, and real estate, including maintaining, renovating, and constructing retail, industrial, or corporate facilities.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills across construction, design, professional services, maintenance, procurement, and commercial agreements, with working knowledge of real estate transactions.
- Practical understanding of project risks, including changes, delays, defects, payment, liens, insurance, indemnity, warranties, and claims.
- Ability to assess legal and business risks and deliver practical, solutions-oriented advice.
- Confident, collaborative leader with sound judgment, clear communication, strong stakeholder relationships, and the resilience and organization to manage high-volume commercial and transactional work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:ㅤ
