Your Day-to-Day as a Senior Counsel - Litigation. You'll be:
  • Responsible for managing significant litigation and dispute matters across the U.S. and Canada, often involving material legal, financial, operational, and reputational risk.
  • Oversee outside counsel engagement, litigation budgets, e-discovery providers, and other third-party support in a cost-effective and strategically disciplined manner.
  • Provide legal advice and reporting to senior business leaders and support board-level updates on significant litigation, disputes, and related regulatory matters
  • Operate in a multi-jurisdictional environment requiring sound judgment, prioritization, and the ability to manage a varied and complex portfolio of contentious matters.
  • Expected to contribute to broader legal and compliance objectives by identifying risk trends, improving processes, and helping reduce future disputes and investigations.

What you'll bring:
To excel in this vital role, you'll need:
  • Juris Doctor required and active license to practice law in the United States.
  • Must be admitted and in good standing with the state bar of one of the following states: Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama
  • Substantial litigation experience, ideally including significant responsibility for complex commercial, regulatory, environmental, employment, or other high-risk disputes in an in-house setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead litigation strategy, assess risk pragmatically, and manage matters through all phases of dispute resolution, including early assessment, discovery, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, trial preparation, and settlement.
  • Strong experience selecting, instructing, and managing outside counsel, controlling legal spend, and ensuring high-quality, commercially focused legal support.
  • Experience with e-discovery, document preservation, legal holds, internal investigations, witness preparation, and litigation reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state court procedure, AAA arbitration processes, regulatory investigations, and administrative proceedings; experience with Canadian disputes and cross-border issues is desirable.
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice to senior leaders, including advice on sensitive, high-profile, or reputationally significant matters.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build credibility across legal and business teams.
  • Sound judgment, high integrity, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Experience advising on policies, training, contract risk issues, and dispute-prevention strategies is strongly preferred.
