Position Summary...As Senior Counsel at Walmart, you will provide strategic legal guidance by analyzing business objectives and regulatory requirements to support informed decision-making. This role involves managing risk mitigation, overseeing compliance, and directing legal strategies across various business functions. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assess pertinent employment impacting legislation, and develop, maintain and directly advise on relevant employment law policies. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement while fostering ethical standards and ensuring alignment with corporate goals to support sustainable business growth and operational excellence.

- Our legal team plays a pivotal role in supporting Walmart Inc.'s people strategy by providing expert counsel on the gamut of employment law matters. We collaborate closely with corporate HR and cross-functional partners to address complex regulatory challenges, shape policies, and mitigate risks. Our work spans wage and hour compliance, benefits design, payroll operations, and global talent initiatives. Beyond HR, we advise various enterprise teams, delivering strategic insights that influence critical projects and business outcomes. Operating at the intersection of law and business, the team offers forward-looking legal guidance that supports transformative programs and drives organizational success.
- What you'll do...
- Oversee legal support for developing, maintaining and directly advising and counseling the company on pertinent employment law and related policies, ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Provide strategic legal counsel by analyzing business objectives and advising on legal strategy, risks, compliance, and regulatory matters.
- Manage relationships with internal clients and external counsel to address legal issues and mitigate risks effectively.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, representing the company before governmental and judicial bodies.
- Promote ethical standards and compliance, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability across teams.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by integrating legal insights into business decision-making and operational excellence.

- The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:
