The Senior Counsel serves as a trusted legal advisor to business leaders, handling complex and high-risk matters, shaping legal strategy, and overseeing significant transactions or disputes.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar
  • At least seven (7) years of legal experience either at a reputable law firm or in-house
  • Experience with drafting legal documents and negotiating contracts
  • Prior litigation / arbitration experience a plus
  • Legal experience in one of the following disciplines strongly preferred: construction, real estate, commercial / corporate transactions
  • Proficient in utilizing legal research databases
  • Excellent writing and reading comprehension skills
  • Ability to organize, assess, and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently
  • Possesses decision-making, research, and analytical problem-solving skills with a high level of understanding of industry standards and company needs and risk tolerance

Essential Duties + Responsibilities:
  • Contract Review and Negotiation: Reviews and negotiates both corporate and project-specific contract with deep understanding of business and legal needs and risks
  • Legal Document Drafting: Drafts legal documents for corporate use
  • Compliance Monitoring: Interprets laws, rulings, and regulations for their implications and applicability to corporate matters
  • Legal Support: Advises management on legal aspects of business transactions and providing counsel to management
  • Legal Research and Investigation: Researches laws, articles, and past judicial decisions, and investigates facts for disputes and cases
  • Process Administration: Collects, reviews and produces documents related to formal requests (subpoenas, garnishments, etc.)
  • Dispute Resolution: Administers, manages and resolves claims and disputes
  • Educational Materials: Creates and implements educational materials on legal issues for various departments
  • Coordination With Outside Counsel: Coordinates with outside counsel resources on a case-by-case basis
  • Best Practices: Participates in company committees to develop and implement organizational goals
  • Team Collaboration: Works effectively within their own team and across the organization, promoting a team atmosphere and culture

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is
$215,000.00 - $275,000.00
