Summary:
The Senior Counsel, Labor & Employment position will have exclusive responsibility for investigating and responding to charges filed with federal and state administrative agencies alleging violations of employment laws.

Essential Functions:
  • Join and serve as a member of the Company's top—notch Labor & Employment Legal Team.
  • Handle the full lifecycle of administrative charges: investigate allegations, prepare position statements and responses to requests for information/documents, attend fact‐finding conferences and the occasional mediation (virtually/remotely when possible), and resolve matters when appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders—such as Leave Administration, Employee Relations, HR, and business unit managers—on various employment law matters.
  • Identify and propose risk‐mitigation strategies in connection with issues uncovered and provide practical guidance and legal opinions to HR, Employee Relations, and managers, drawing on your employment‐law expertise and a deep understanding of the Company's operations and divisions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to a state bar, in good standing, required upon hire.
  • Five (5) years or more experience in house or at a large law firm.
  • Four (4) years or more experience in employment law.
  • Experience managing employment claims raised with federal and/or state administrative agencies.

  • Exceptional ability to draft comprehensive, concise, and legally sound position statements.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders and gather relevant information/evidence.
  • Excellent legal judgment, negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate practical advice clearly.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills; able to tailor analysis for a variety of audiences with different levels of legal sophistication.
  • Proven ability to assess and manage legal and business risks, balancing a practical viewpoint of risk vs. reward, and make recommendations to business leaders about settlement and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to influence internal clients while maintaining strong long‐term relationships.
  • In‐house legal experience supporting business operations is a plus.

Compensation Information:
The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

140,000
