Scope of Position

A National Provider of Renewable Energy Infrastructure, a subsidiary of EDF Renewables, is seeking a Senior Counsel to support our fast growth in the on-site renewable energy business, focused on Solar Energy, Battery Storage, Electric Vehicle Charging and related hardware and software technology. In this position, you will work in close partnership with leadership stakeholders and internal business teams, to review and draft contracts, lead contract negotiations, and manage the full cycle of the business's internal legal needs.

Responsibilities:
  • 45% -?Review and draft various contracts related to A National Provider of Renewable Energy Infrastructure's business throughout the United States. This could software license agreements, energy services agreements, vendor agreements, turnkey installation agreements, operation agreements, power purchase agreements, hardware sale agreements, leases, project sale agreements.
  • 20% -?Lead?negotiations?with?counterparties?and manage multiple work streams; serve as the main point of contact with internal business and management teams for a variety of communications around contracting and legal support.
  • 15%?- Provide general support on legal matters across all company departments; interpret and apply legal requirements to the business - in particular, laws and regulations relating to A National Provider of Renewable Energy Infrastructure's activities; advise on contract strategies and provide risk and business arguments for specific deals and commercial issues.
  • 15%?- Develop and refine legal systems, contract templates, processes and playbooks, to continuously improve the health of the company's legal and compliance functions; manage workflow and provide reporting on all relevant activities; keep abreast of the company's vision, mission, and services, as well as the competitive landscape and?be able to articulate the company's service offerings effectively.
  • 5% - Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree and member of a State Bar Association (preferably California)
  • At least 3-6 years of legal experience in relevant fields; preferably in the renewable energy, construction, project finance, energy or renewable energy regulatory fields
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to work with cross-functional business teams, and lead the drafting, negotiation and implementation of contracts
