The Sr. Counsel (Healthcare Technology) will serve as a key member of A National Partnership of Independent, Community Oncology Company Healthcare and Operations legal team, with primary responsibility for supporting the company's technology solutions, pharmaceutical real-world evidence and data business, and other technology initiatives. This role will also provide guidance on privacy and security matters, technology-related contracting, and other advisory needs for the A National Partnership of Independent, Community Oncology Company platform and its affiliated physician practices. We currently have 25 partner practices on our oncology MSO platform and 4 partner practices on our urology MSO platform through the recently acquired United Urology Group. Weare highly focused on investment in enhancements to our network's technology solutions, support for development of A National Partnership of Independent, Community Oncology Company-owned certified healthcare technology, including our patient portal and patient education tool (through the recently acquired Navigating Care platform) and in-house Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR), as well as growth opportunities to enhance research, add additional sites of care, service lines and providers that will enhance patient's access to high-quality, low-cost specialty treatment in communities closer to home.

Responsibilities:
  • Advise and counsel OneOncology corporate teams and partner practices on technology, privacy and security matters, including without limitation, all aspects of owned and licensed technology offerings and solutions for OneOncology and its practice partners, including Navigating Care and OneOncology's QCDR.
  • Review, draft, negotiate and close healthcare-related vendor agreements and pharmaceutical real world evidence and data related agreements across the OneOncology platform, addressing technology, privacy and security and other legal needs.
  • Coordinate with and build consensus amongst OneOncology's internal departments, such as finance, operations, integrations, human resources, business development, information technology and compliance, to meet the needs of the platform, including managing technology matters for new practices and other mergers and acquisitions.
  • Address intellectual property needs of the diversified platform and platform practices, including on trademark and copyright matters, supported by specialized outside counsel.
  • Manage outside counsel tasks and projects for assigned OneOncology practice partnerships or affiliations
  • Provide rapid, practical, business-oriented legal and commercial strategic advice directly to business stakeholders responsible for pharma data/RWE and certified Health IT business lines.
  • Apply innovative problem-solving skills and practical business judgment to maximize revenues, minimize risk and foster long-term clinical and business partner relationships.
  • Manage assigned projects to completion.
  • Assist more senior counsel and management in higher level matters, as needed.

Key Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with healthcare technology or technology industry commercial and transaction experience
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers in the technology space
  • Familiar with certified Electronic Health Record (EHR) regulations, healthcare anti-kickback, self-referral, fraud and abuse laws, and HIPAA
  • Experience with bio pharmaceutical industry matters, including negotiating commercial transactions with bio pharmaceutical sponsors.
  • Demonstrated success working in a fast-paced, high-performing, results-driven environment
  • Ability to draft and close commercial agreements with minimal support from more senior staff
  • Demonstrated ability to think and decide quickly, and to communicate legal issues and solutions clearly and concisely
  • Self-starter with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage and bring complex projects to close

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Member of a state or DC bar
  • 7-10+ years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
