What you'll do...
Join the Health & Wellness Legal Team as a Senior Counsel supporting Pharmacy and advise business and legal leadership about legal rights, obligations, and risks while serving as a strategic legal advisor on complex pharmacy contracts for the world's largest retailer.

The Sr. Counsel – Health & Wellness Legal, Pharmacy role is critical as in this role you will work on the pharmacy legal team assisting colleagues as well as the business on drafting, editing, and negotiating agreements, particularly complex agreements such as: pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) agreements, merchandising, and wholesaler agreements for the purchase of pharmaceuticals. You will also help pharmacists and the business understand and comply with regulations, as well as help navigate ambiguity and uncertainty. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate legal and business risk, providing legal advice and counsel to business and compliance clients. You will also occasionally retain, manage, and collaborate closely with outside counsel.

What You'll Do:
  • Devise and convey legal strategies for the Company's complex pharmacy related agreements.
  • Advise pharmacists and the business team on how to maneuver in high stakes situations with sometimes ambiguous and conflicting regulations.
  • Help business team develop “best practices” and procedures that will mitigate corporate risk.
  • Occasionally manage outside counsel and always ensure budget discipline.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify the need for legal support for business transactions and projects.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Subject matter expert in pharmacy compliance, pharmacy-tech, PBM and/or pharmaceutical supplier agreements or Board of Pharmacy interactions.
