Description:

This position will report to and work closely with the VP & Chief Counsel - Global Labor & Employment and will also collaborate with leaders in the Legal and HR functions generally at all levels, providing legal counsel on matters related to labor and employment law. Responsibilities/ Requirements/Accountabilities
  • Support and drive An American Globally Diversified Conglomerate Company L&E Legal strategy, including its annual and long-term objectives
  • Advise and counsel internal clients regarding compliance with existing labor and employment laws and new legislation
  • Support and advise the Global HR Labor & Employee Relations Center of Excellence
  • Advise and counsel on labor and employment related aspects of mergers and acquisitions / corporate transactions / restructurings
  • Supervise/partner with outside counsel to manage select adversarial proceedings with legal acumen and cost-effectively
  • Provide L&E legal support with respect to ad hoc enterprise initiatives and serve as L&E legal team member of cross-functional projects
  • Oversee and/or conduct complex and/or sensitive employment-related investigations
  • Provide efficient and practical L&E Legal advice and support to HR and other functional partners
  • Manage vendor program for immigration legal service delivery and provide L&E legal support for cross-border employment arrangements, including “hosting” arrangements
  • Drive process and program improvements through creation of best practices, toolkits and other methods that can be scaled to achieve broad impact and sustainability
  • Analyze, draft, negotiate, review and revise agreements, policies, and programs relating to employment relationships
  • Monitor and stay current on critical legal developments in key countries and regions to ensure the business timely adjusts policies, practices, and procedures
  • Develop and conduct training and workshops to support implementation of L&E Legal solutions, SW, and toolkits to maximize sustainability

  • Ability to set and meet multiple priorities, initiative to take on new challenges and high energy to work with diverse teams in a fast-paced work environment
  • Highly capable of collaboration and sharing ideas articulately and openly to influence others without direct authority, marshal buy-in, and drive change among people with different cultural and educational backgrounds

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's and JD degrees
  • 15+ years of labor & employment law practice (mixture of law firm and in-house practice a plus), with at least 3-5 years experience on global/cross-border labor & employment matters
  • Licensed to Practice Law in at least one state in the United States and must be a member in good standing with that State bar.
  • Proficiency or fluency in other languages a plus
  • Tech savvy and excellent Powerpoint and Excel skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed up to 25%
