The Role:
As the Senior Corporate Counsel, Structured Finance, you will serve as the lead legal partner to a dynamic capital markets team. You will play a pivotal role in managing legal aspects of the entire transaction lifecycle, from initial structuring to negotiations to closing to post-closing matters.

What you'll own:
  • Lead Transactional Execution: Take primary responsibility for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating, complex financing transactions, including warehouse credit facilities, forward flow loan sales, and Asset-Backed Securitizations (ABS). 
  • End-to-End Transactional Management: Manage the entire deal process, including coordinating with outside counsel, internal and external counterparts, handing due diligence process, performing day-to-day management of the legal portion of the project from inception to post-closing covenants, and developing comprehensive checklist of any post-closing requirements.
  • Advising Business on a Day-to-Day Basis: Develop an in-depth understanding of the consumer credit products offered by Sunbit and advise business and capital markets teams on requirements and restrictions imposed by the existing funding sources and work on aligning the products with transactional requirements, including handling amendments to the transactional documents.
  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Assist with broader corporate legal needs, including vendor contract reviews, intercompany agreements, and supporting general transactional workflows.
  • Perform Other Tasks as Required: Assist with a variety of legal projects, including corporate, regulatory and other matters.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a strong team player by partnering with Finance, Treasury, Risk, and Product teams to ensure financing structures align with business goals.

Requirements:
What You'll Bring:
  • Experience: 6+ years of dedicated hands-on substantive experience in structured finance, specifically focused on unsecured consumer financial products.
  • Proven Track Record: You must have substantial hands-on experience and served as the "lead" or a critical player on a variety of the structured finance deals, such as warehouse facilities, forward flow sale agreements, and ABS offerings.
  • Background: A combination of law firm training and in-house experience at a FinTech, financial services company, or financial institution is preferred.
  • Must be impeccably organized and exhibit full ownership over the projects at hand.
  • JD or LLM degree from an ABA-accredited university and active CA State Bar membership in good standing, or eligibility to practice as Registered In-House Counsel (Rule 9.46)

How We Pay:

We believe in paying fairly and equitably based on a number of factors including but not limited to previous experience, relevant work history, interview performance, geographical location, internal equity, and expected level of ownership.

We are targeting a salary of $175,000 - $275,000 per year for this role

This role will also be granted company equity via stock options
