Job Summary:
Support the corporation with respect to its legal and business operations including reviewing contracts, providing general legal advice, administration of claims and other legal matters as assigned by the General Counsel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend mediations, arbitrations, trials and hearings as necessary.
  • Conduct complex legal research, guide the investigation of claims and defenses; develop oral and written advice and present recommendations to management.
  • Evaluate and provide advice to company personnel with respect to construction defect and payment disputes; negotiate with owners, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve such disputes.
  • Exercise sound, independent judgment within areas of responsibility.
  • Lead training of company personnel.
  • Provide legal counsel and advice to company personnel on a broad range of legal topics including construction law, disputes, compliance, employment, labor relations, liens and other relevant law.
  • Provides management with legal advice and information regarding contract/execution risks and risk management strategies.
  • Review contracts and advise company personnel with respect to contract issues and contract administration. As appropriate participate in contract negotiations with respect to prime contract, subcontract and supplier matters.
  • Support other activities of the legal department as required.
  • Work extensively with internal teams with respect to their legal needs.

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Currently admitted (or capable of being admitted within six (6) months) as an attorney in Arizona and in good standing
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Juris Doctorate required from an ABA approved institution
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Sr. Corporate Counsel requires 5-8 years' experience practicing as an attorney at a Law Firm or within a corporate law department. Construction law experience required
