We are seeking an experienced, pragmatic, and business-oriented Senior Corporate Counsel to join our legal team. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, this role will serve as a strategic legal partner across the organization, with primary responsibility for overseeing litigation and employment risk, supporting corporate governance, and serving as a senior escalation point for complex commercial and corporate matters.

This is a high-impact, senior-level role designed for a versatile attorney who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can independently assess risk, set legal strategy, and supervise internal and external resources. The ideal candidate brings 6–10 years of experience in a law firm or a combination of law firm and in-house roles, with meaningful litigation experience and a strong corporate foundation.

Responsibilites:
  • Lead and oversee the company's litigation and pre-litigation portfolio, including demand letters, subpoenas, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Set litigation strategy, supervise outside counsel performance, and manage litigation budgets.
  • Advise executive leadership on exposure, risk mitigation, settlement strategy, and business impact.
  • Oversee internal investigations and alternative dispute resolution proceedings as needed.
  • Serve as senior legal advisor on a full range of employment matters, including performance management, terminations, leaves, and wage/hour compliance.
  • Partner closely with HR leadership to proactively identify and mitigate employment-related risk, guiding complex or high-risk matters.
  • Support development and implementation of employment policies and training.
  • Support board and committee governance processes, including the review and preparation of materials, minutes, and resolutions.
  • Oversee subsidiary management, entity compliance, maintenance of corporate records, and assist with regulatory filings and governance best practices.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex, high-risk, or non-standard commercial agreements.
  • Advise business leaders on contract risk allocation and negotiation strategy.
  • Provide cross-functional legal counsel to minimize enterprise risk and enable business growth.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions, including diligence oversight and integration support.
  • Partner with finance and executive teams on transaction-related risk assessment.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 6-10 years of legal experience, including exposure to litigation and employment counseling.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and supervise outside counsel effectively.
  • Strong business judgment and ability to provide clear, risk-based advice to senior leaders.
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a technology, SaaS, or high-growth environment.
  • Experience supporting multi-state operations.
  • Familiarity with M&A processes and corporate transactions.
  • Experience working in a supervisory or team-lead capacity.
  • Familiarity with AI systems and emerging AI tools used in legal, compliance, or business operations.

$170,300 - $278,200 a year

This band covers the full salary range for the role. Your offer within this range will depend on factors like experience, skills, and internal equity.
