Description:Amazon's legal department is looking for an experienced patent attorney to support Amazon's global supply chain, fulfillment, delivery network, transportation, logistics, and advanced robotics initiatives.
If you enjoy engaging deeply with inventors and business clients on patent issues involving innovative technologies and evolving legal standards, this is a great opportunity for you. As a member of the IP team, you will directly interact with the businesses and technology teams to protect new and innovative equipment and systems, working with outside counsels on the preparation, prosecution, and maintenance of Amazon's US and foreign patent portfolio. You will also be responsible for counseling clients regarding patent and other IP-related issues arising within the context of business transactions, hiring, partner engagements, and new product and service development.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in technology and commercial transactions or businesses
- Registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
- Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
