Meet the team:
Cisco's in-house Corporate Investigations team includes seasoned attorneys, investigators, and business professionals. The Corporate Investigations team is responsible for conducting internal investigations across Cisco's global offices, and works closely with Cisco's ethics and compliance, finance, sales, human resources, regulatory and other business teams on those investigations. This position will report to our Senior Director, Associate General Counsel for Corporate Investigations, and will be responsible for handling a wide variety of investigations across geographies.

Your Impact:
Cisco is seeking a highly motivated and experienced lawyer to serve as a Senior Corporate Counsel in our global corporate investigations team. You will be handling and managing internal and privileged investigations across a wide variety of ethics and compliance matters stemming from internal and external enforcement inquiries, navigating diverse and complex regulatory and legal landscapes, consulting with stakeholders in determining remediation efforts, and working with a global team in building a strong culture of compliance.

Responsibilities include:
  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of global complex investigations, partnering cross-functionally with the employment, ethics, competition, sales, and finance teams. This includes developing investigation strategy, conducting and documenting interviews, performing tasks associated with investigation management, developing remediation recommendations, and creating and finalizing investigative reports.
  • Select and manage outside counsel for certain complex investigations, coordinate strategy with outside counsel.
  • Identify trends and opportunities in investigative data to continuously inform and recommend training, policy and controls updates, and mitigation of future compliance risks. Work with other teams as necessary to implement those changes.
  • Scale and develop AI data driven frameworks and assessments for conducting investigations.
  • Brief executives on investigation outcomes and risk management guidance, and partner cross-functionally to execute resulting remediation.
  • Actively contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture by sharing knowledge and building strong professional relationships across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution and 10+ years of relevant experience in government (highly preferred) and/or law firm, or in-house investigation role within compliance, corporate law, or a related field, with high preference in the technology sector.
  • 5+ years of experience and familiarity with managing the full lifecycle of internal privileged investigations and external enforcement of the FCPA, SOX, whistleblower, antitrust, anti-bribery, other securities law and business ethics violations, and their equivalents for non-U.S. countries; as well as managing outside counsel and handling external enforcement and regulatory requests related to those areas.
  • Experience working with U.S. and global federal and state law enforcement or regulatory agencies, and government litigation and investigations experience.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple time-sensitive projects at the same time, and exhibit the poise, presence, judgment and decision-making skills to advise senior level management on matters involving legal and reputational risk.
