About the role:
The Sr. Commercial Counsel serves as a key legal partner to the Company's commercial organization, providing practical, business-focused legal advice across a broad range of commercial activities, including Sales, Marketing, Commercial Operations, and Medical initiatives. This role supports complex commercial matters in the pharmaceutical industry while ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and Company policies.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
Provide clear, practical legal advice and risk guidance to key stakeholders across the commercial organization focused on the following:
  • Commercial activities, including operations and analytics initiatives, sales and marketing strategies, training, promotional materials, and medical education
  • Legal matters related to commercial products and compliance with applicable healthcare laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act
  • Strategic and tactical legal advice on commercial issues, including support for cross-functional initiatives
  • Draft, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements, including vendor services agreements, data purchase and license agreements, market research arrangements, and other commercial initiatives
  • Partner closely with business clients to understand business requirements and ensure strategies and contractual terms align with Company priorities and policies
  • Manage and coordinate legal matters handled by outside counsel
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree AND 7+ years practice as an attorney in a well-regarded law firm and experience with a life sciences company, and/or a reputable, highly rated law firm with a focus on representing life science companies, or a combination of both OR
  • Experience supporting a commercial organization within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry strongly preferred OR
  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction AND
  • Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to ethical business practices
  • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a focus on organizational success
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in identifying, analyzing, and providing legal advice on complex commercial issues
  • Ability to deliver clear, concise, and actionable legal advice tailored to business needs
  • Proven ability to build consensus and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $204,100.00-$278,000.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 35% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
