Job Description:
Experian is looking for an attorney with experience drafting and negotiating complex agreements for sophisticated clients across diverse industries, including AdTech, telecom, financial services, fintech, technology, and the public sector.

You will work directly with Experian's business clients to negotiate contracts. These contracts include credit and marketing data services, SaaS agreements, licensed software, consulting and professional services, analytics, NDAs, evaluation agreements, service level agreements, standard terms, and master services agreements. An understanding of these products and services is essential.

You will report to the Commercial Contracts Counsel Director and work remotely or from a local Experian office.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • As a front-line negotiator and business partner, you will find creative solutions that meet both Experian's and its clients' business and compliance needs and ensure that contracts comply with Experian policies and business practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders and subject matter experts, including information security, internal and regulatory compliance, sales, product marketing, corporate legal, and finance to help drive transactions to successful completion within the required (and oftentimes aggressive) time frame.
  • You will also maintain and enforce contracting policies, which will involve obtaining and documenting approvals for non-standard terms and pricing, assisting sales teams with on-going administration of client contracts, advising management on contractual terms and risks, and providing training to sales and other departments on contract issues and negotiation strategies.

Qualifications:
  • JD from an accredited law school and active admission to a state bar.
  • 4+ years of experience in an in‑house legal or contracts department.
  • Experience supporting a large, complex business environment in support of a sales-focused organization, by partnering with business, technical teams, and senior leadership to deliver clear, actionable guidance on contract terms and business practices.
  • Contract drafting skills with experience leading negotiations, balancing risk and opportunity, and maintaining professional, collaborative relationships—including leading client negotiation calls.
  • Hands‑on experience negotiating key provisions such as Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Warranties, Termination, Data Security, Data Privacy, and Confidentiality.
  • Experience ensuring contract terms align with revenue recognition and accounting requirements for various services, including software and custom development.
