Position Summary:Reporting to the Vice President, Senior Counsel, the Senior Commercial Counsel is responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a wide range of commercial agreements. This role ensures legal compliance, mitigates risk, and supports strategic business initiatives through expert legal counsel. This role is critical to the success of the business in ensuring efficient and strategic review of commercial contracts.

You will advise executives and decision makers who are driven by a desire to protect customers, even when homeownership poses stressful challenges .
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with all business departments on strategic review and drafting of commercial agreements
- Draft, review, negotiate and revise a wide range of commercial agreements for the business, including IT and Marketing
- Establish and maintain scalable contracting processes and templates
- Collaborate with Legal Ops Manager on best practices for contract management system
- Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations and company policies
- Support other corporate initiatives, including M&A and corporate governance as needed
- Collaborate with compliance function on contract management policies and procedures

Experience and Qualifications of the Role:
- Minium 8 years of relevant legal experience
- 5-7 years of commercial contracting experience, preferably including (i) IT services and technology contracts, (ii) master service agreements and statements of work and (iii) digital and general marketing contracts
- Strong understanding and ability to advise on Privacy, Cyber and Data Security issues (g. data protection agreements)
- Demonstrated capability in utilizing and improving Legal Operations technologies and platforms (g. contract life cycle management tools, redlining tools, etc)
Education:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school required
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois
