Demidchik Law Firm is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Litigation Attorney to handle and supervise complex civil litigation matters through all stages of the litigation process. The ideal candidate is a strong strategist, persuasive writer, capable negotiator, and experienced courtroom advocate who can independently manage significant cases with limited supervision.

We are open to two distinct engagement structures:
  • Full-Time W-2 Attorney: A traditional employment position for an attorney who will join the firm, manage an assigned caseload, work with our litigation team, and participate in the firm's broader operations.
  • Independent 1099 Referral Counsel: A case-by-case or referral-based relationship for an established attorney or law practice interested in accepting selected matters. Compensation and responsibilities will be agreed upon separately for each referred or jointly handled case.
  • This position is based out of our City of Industry office. The W-2 position is primarily in person. The location and working arrangement for referral counsel may vary depending on the case and the parties' agreement.

Responsibilities:
Depending on the engagement structure, responsibilities may include:
  • Independently managing civil litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution
  • Developing case strategy, litigation budgets, and case-specific action plans
  • Drafting and responding to complaints, motions, discovery, dispositive motions, and other pleadings
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Conducting legal research and preparing persuasive written advocacy
  • Appearing at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and trials
  • Evaluating liability, damages, evidentiary issues, and settlement value
  • Negotiating settlements and communicating recommendations to clients
  • Supervising junior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff when appropriate
  • Maintaining organized case files, deadlines, and client communications
  • Providing regular and candid assessments of case status, risk, and expected outcomes
  • Collaborating with firm leadership on high-value, high-risk, or strategically important matters

Qualifications:
  • Active and in-good-standing membership with the State Bar of California, other state licenses are a plus
  • Substantial civil litigation experience, preferably including first-chair responsibility
  • Ability to independently manage cases without extensive supervision
  • Strong motion practice, discovery, deposition, negotiation, and courtroom experience
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
  • Sound professional judgment and the ability to identify legal and practical risks
  • Strong organizational skills and consistent attention to deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and internal staff
  • Trial experience is strongly preferred
  • Portable business or an existing referral network is welcome but not required
