Position Summary:
This advertisement will be used to fill multiple Senior Attorney positions, as outlined below. In addition to their primary assignments, selected attorneys may have the opportunity to work across several areas of law, allowing for cross-training and professional growth. All positions report directly to the Deputy General Counsel.
The Work You Will Do
- Position Number 67016588 provides legal representation to the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (Agency) in Medicaid-related litigation. This includes representation before the Office of Appeal Hearings, the Division of Administrative Hearings, and other state or appellate courts, as required. Travel may be required.
- Position Number 67073223 represents the Agency in forensic litigation and analyzes legal issues arising from the Developmental Disabilities Centers and the Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program.
- Position Number 67015966 provides legal representation to the Agency related to public records, HIPAA, rules, and other areas of the law in support of the Office of the General Counsel.
Minimum Qualifications:
Member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- With public records and their exemptions, HIPAA, and laws and ethics in government.
- Medicaid Law.
- Sunshine Law.
- Laws and ethics in government.
- Court, administrative and legal procedure.
Ability to:
Communicate with and train non-legal personnel.
Demonstrate Skills in:
Electronic case research and legal document preparation.
