Responsibilities:
What You'll Do:
  • Handle all legal aspects of sophisticated divorce and family law cases from beginning to end, including child custody, child support, equitable distribution, alimony, domestic violence, pre- and post-marital agreements, and post-judgment enforcement and modifications
  • Expertly manage case deadlines to ensure the timely resolution of legal matters
  • Run your own internal team “pod,” overseeing a team of legal support professionals that will assist you in being successful
  • Collaborate with other legal team members
  • Attend court appearances (virtual or in person) throughout the state of New Jersey and effectively and strongly advocate for clients' interests
  • Conduct advanced legal research and extensive legal writing for motions, pleadings, memoranda, discovery demands and responses, correspondences, along with preparing and analyzing Case Information Statements, business and personal financial statements of clients, etc.
  • Meet and interface as needed on a timely basis with clients to provide 5-star exceptional and responsive client service and empathetic support
  • Participation in educational opportunities, including attendance and speaking engagements at major Family Law Continuing Legal Education (CLE) events
  • Complete legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and briefs
  • Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests and responses
  • Anticipate, prepare for, and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration on behalf of clients
  • Stay updated on changing applicable laws and statutes on the local, state, and federal levels
  • Supervise and mentor lower level attorneys in proper conflict resolution techniques

Qualifications:
  • Excellent writing skills and creative problem-solving sickening degree of attention to detail
  • Strong legal research skills, storytelling, negotiation courtroom advocacy skills
  • The ability to be an awesome juggler of tasks and can change gears quickly
  • Effective, frequent, and clear verbal and written communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to build positive and collaborative relationships internally and externally
  • Ability to capture, track, and meet billable hour requirements and other KPI's
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritize a heavy caseload, able to proactively and ahead of schedule meet deadlines, and regularly communicate with clients to maintain expectations
  • No ego; don't mind having egg on your face sometimes if you learn and grow from the experience

Education and Experience:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar is required
  • Experience in handling complex legal issues and court proceedings effectively
  • Experience in handling clients' emotions and anxiety
  • Experience in strategizing on cases and executing with intentionality
  • Known to be a well-respected advocate with a high level of personal and professional integrity, priding yourself on high-quality work
  • Four-year bachelor's degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited law school
  • Work independently while handling a heavy caseload
  • Five years of experience as a senior associate in the legal industry
  • Prior experience representing clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration
  • Exceptional time management and interpersonal skills are desired, as are exceptional writing and verbal communication skills
