Due to growth, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Attorney to join TMHCC Specialty Group, located in our new state-of-the-art headquarters in Wakefield, MA. Tokio Marine HCC Specialty Group includes the EPIC (Enhanced Product Innovation and Collaboration) division, and On Call International (our travel risk management and global emergency assistance services company). This position will split time between the Wakefield, MA headquarters location and the Salem, NH office of On Call International.

Position Overview:
In this role, you will provide comprehensive legal support to TMHCC Specialty Group, including its divisions such as EPIC (Enhanced Product Innovation and Collaboration) and On Call International. This role is responsible for contract management, legal risk mitigation, and litigation oversight, ensuring applicable Specialty Group entities operate in compliance with laws and regulations while being protected from legal exposure. The position partners closely with senior leadership, corporate legal staff, and external counsel to safeguard organizational interests and support business objectives.
Performance Objectives:
- Gain a significant understanding of our Company and divisions: Within the first 30 days, gain a deep understanding of the Specialty Group, its divisions, and internal clients. During this time you will also be introduced to our corporate legal staff and Senior Management to gain an understanding of the roles each one plays in the overall legal strategy of Specialty Group.
- Begin to draft and review documents: Within the first 90 days, draft and review documents such as non-disclosure agreements, broker agreements, policy wording, fronting agreements, managing general underwriter agreements and reinsurance treaties. You will begin to assist On Call International in collaboration with client procurement departments.
- Support contract management and other legal activities: Within the first 6 months, start to foresee and protect the companies of TMHCC Specialty Group against legal risks. Due to growth of the business, you will have a consistently fast-paced workload. On an ongoing basis, you will coordinate with corporate legal and/or outside counsel, serving as the company's liaison on litigation matters.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree
- Licensed to practice law in Massachusetts
- Minimum of five years of relevant legal and/or progressive professional experience in insurance preferred
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
- Superior organizational and analytical skills, demonstrating an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Successfully able to prioritize workload and communicate competing priorities effectively
- Intermediate proficiency and experience using Office 365
