The Senior Associate attorney will handle complex litigation matters across various practice areas, managing cases from inception through resolution, delivering strategic legal counsel, and representing clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions. This role requires exceptional research, drafting, and litigation skills, along with the ability to collaborate closely with partners and clients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates independence, strong communication, and a commitment to meeting a 1,950-hour annual billable requirement.

Primary Job Duties:
  • Defending and advocating for clients in matters involving General Liability, Commercial Litigation, Construction Defect, Transportation/Trucking, Labor/Employment Litigation, and Professional Liability
  • File review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action
  • Extensive legal research and drafting of substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
  • Regularly representing clients in court, at arbitrations and in depositions
  • Drafting and responding to discovery requests
  • Expert witness retention and collaboration
  • Trial preparation and attendance, some travel may be required
  • Manage deadlines and assignments with a high level of ownership and independence
  • Annual billable amount of 1950 hours required

Requirements:
  • 3+ years' experience in Civil Litigation experience with an emphasis in insurance defense [or another practice group]
  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Admitted to practice in this state, other states a plus, but not required
  • Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent client skills and telephone manner
  • Experience participating in negotiations and mediations
  • Solid research abilities and written and oral communication skills
