The Role:
Knox Ricksen is seeking a California-licensed attorney with 7+ years of civil litigation experience to join our Complex Fraud Litigation practice.

This position offers the opportunity to take a lead role in litigating civil fraud cases from the investigation phase through discovery, motion practice, and trial. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who enjoys tackling challenging legal issues, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to build a long-term career litigating complex fraud matters with a premier litigation boutique.

This is a remote position (with in-person attendance at litigation proceedings as needed) for an attorney who prefers to work as part of a collaborative team and is passionate about vindicating victims' rights. The annual billable hour expectation is 1850 hours.

Responsibilities:

Case Planning & Strategy – Develop and execute strategic case plans for complex fraud matters from inception through resolution.
Team Leadership – Lead litigation teams, delegate effectively, and mentor junior attorneys.
Case Management – Lead cases on a day-to-day basis, with senior partners providing strategic direction.
Discovery – Manage all phases of written discovery, document production, and e-discovery strategy.
Depositions – Prepare for, take, and defend depositions of fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and experts.
Motion Practice – Research, draft, and argue substantive and dispositive motions.
Client Reporting & Communication – Provide case assessments, strategic recommendations, and litigation risk analysis to clients.
Expert Management – Identify, retain, and prepare expert witnesses to support case strategy.
Hearings & Court Appearances – Represent clients at hearings, conferences, mediations, and court proceedings.
Trial Preparation – Develop trial strategy, prepare witnesses and exhibits, coordinate experts, and participate in all trial phases.

Qualifications:

Licensed in California and in good standing.
7+ years of litigation experience.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to independently manage complex litigation from inception through resolution.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a remote team.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-exposure matters simultaneously.
Significant experience with depositions, motion practice, written discovery, and case management.
Trial experience or substantial trial preparation experience is preferred.
California residence is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $200,000–$240,000.00 annually, depending on experience
