Job Overview:We are a New York City based firm with a nationally-recognized franchise and business law practice. We are seeking a commercial litigation associate with at least four years of relevant experience to join our team. Must be admitted in New York. Candidates with fewer than four years of experience will not be considered for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues
- Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements
- Represent clients in court proceedings and hearings
- Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on case strategy
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact client cases
- Manage a caseload and ensure deadlines are met
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Proficiency in conducting legal research using Westlaw
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate with clients on a variety of issues
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in New York State
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, preferably in a similar role
