Overview:Enchantment Legal, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Associate Attorney with substantial litigation experience in Family Law and Civil Litigation to join our established Albuquerque practice. This position offers the opportunity to handle meaningful litigation work in a firm that provides strong administrative support and a sustainable billable structure.
The ideal candidate will have solid courtroom experience, sound judgment, and the ability to manage cases independently from intake through resolution. This role is well suited for an attorney who wants to focus on practicing law rather than managing unnecessary administrative burdens. As a senior member of the firm, you will play an important role in case strategy, client representation, and maintaining the professional standards of our practice.
Duties:
- Independently manage a caseload involving family law and civil litigation matters from start to finish
- Develop and implement litigation strategy in contested domestic relations and civil cases
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda with clarity and attention to detail
- Represent clients in hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Advise clients regarding legal strategy, risk assessment, and case progression
- Negotiate settlements while maintaining professionalism with opposing counsel and the court
- Work closely with paralegals and administrative staff to ensure efficient case management and client communication
- Maintain accurate billing entries and case documentation in accordance with firm policies and ethical standards
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active admission to the New Mexico Bar
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience with the ability to independently manage a full caseload
- Family law or domestic relations litigation experience preferred
- Strong courtroom presence and effective oral advocacy skills
- Excellent legal writing and analytical ability
- Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a busy litigation practice
- Commitment to professional responsibility and client-focused representation
- Experience with legal case management and billing software
