Introduction:
The Loudoun County Attorney's Office Is Seeking an Attorney Who Will Primarily Advise and Represent the Department of Family Services in Child Protective Services and Foster Care Cases, Adult Protective Services Cases, and Other Matters. Candidates Who May Not Possess the Experience Required for A Senior Level Position May Be Considered at The Assistant County Attorney Level.

Job Summary:
Principle Duties Include: Advising County Departments, Agencies and Officials; Preparing Opinions and Legal Documents; and Representing the Department of Family Services in Administrative Hearings and In Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court, Circuit Court and Appellate Court Proceedings.

The Successful Candidate Must Be Able to Work Independently, Prioritize His/her Workload, Manage Multiple Cases in A Timely and Efficient Manner; Work Well with A Team, and Provide Reliable Legal Advice. Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills Required.

Candidates Who May Not Possess the Three Years of Relevant Experience Required for A Senior Level Position Will Be Considered at The Assistant County Attorney Level as An Underfill. Hiring Range for Senior Assistant County Attorney: $99,043.81-$183,231.04
Hiring Range for Assistant County Attorney: $86,424.67-$151,243.18
Hiring Salary Is Commensurate with Experience at Either Level.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Job Requirements for Assistant County Attorney: A Juris Doctor Degree from An Accredited Law School and Membership in Good Standing with The Virginia State Bar Is Required; However, Applicants Awaiting Virginia Bar Results or Those Obtaining a Waiver of Admission Will Be Considered so Long as The Timeframe for Admission in Virginia Does Not Exceed Four Months.

Minimum Job Requirements for Senior Assistant County Attorney: A Juris Doctor Degree from An Accredited Law School; Membership in Good Standing with The Virginia State Bar (or Eligible for Admission Within Four Months); and At Least Three (3) Years' Experience as A Licensed Practicing Attorney, Including at Least Two (2) Years' Experience Practicing Local Government Law or A Specific Relevant Practice Area.
