As a Sanctions, AML, & Export Compliance General Counsel here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing legal matters related to sanctions and export compliance, ensuring our operations align with applicable laws and regulations. While most of your time may be spent on sanctions-related matters, you will also be responsible for anti-money laundering (AML) controls and export compliance matters as assigned. Your expertise in these areas will be instrumental in protecting our interests and driving our success as best-in-class compliance program in the Aerospace sector.

You will report directly to our Vice President Global Trade, within the Honeywell Aerospace Legal Department, and you'll work out of one of our key Aerospace sites in either Washington, DC OR Phoenix, AZ and work on a hybrid work schedule. You will manage a team of experienced trade professionals.

In this role, you will support Honeywell Aerospace's compliance with complex legal and regulatory frameworks, with a focus on sanctions regulations, AML requirements, and export control regimes (including ITAR and EAR). Your legal acumen and operational insights will enable Honeywell to operate ethically and effectively in the global market.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for all legal matters related to sanctions compliance and AML.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies and program requirements to mitigate risks associated with sanctions, export, and anti-money laundering (AML) issues.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on sanctions compliance, export controls, and AML compliance to various levels of the Honeywell Aerospace organization, including the executive leadership team.
  • Counsel on export compliance matters assigned.
  • Support trade-related investigations and disclosures.
  • Set the training strategy for sanctions compliance and AML across Honeywell Aerospace.

Qualifications:
You must have:
  • 7+ years of experience practicing law with a focus on sanctions compliance and export controls.
  • Deep expertise of U.S. sanctions and export control laws and regulations, with a working familiarity of key non-U.S. jurisdictions as well.
  • Knowledge of AML regulations and compliance, plus a willingness to grow your knowledge.
  • Excellence in legal research and drafting corresponding written and verbal analyses.
  • Familiarity with compliance tools and technologies relevant to export, sanctions, and AML.
  • Experience in developing compliance and conducting risk assessments with the stated goal of strengthening Honeywell Aerospace's trade compliance program and providing proactive strategies to mitigate risk.

Pay Equity
​The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $242,000 - $302,000. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $242,000 - $302,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Export Compliance
