Reporting directly to the Managing Attorney, the Fellowship Research Associate manages the administration of the Rutgers Law Associates post-doctoral program, including grant development and reporting, fiscal management and planning, internships associated with the program, billing and collection, technology procurement and management. and case intake and distribution. Some direct supervision of the legal work of the post-doctoral fellows is anticipated, as are courtroom appearances where senior lawyer supervision is required by Court order or relevant rules of Court. This position is for one year. Reappointment is contingent upon continued external funding.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree and J.D. required position. Admission in good standing to practice law in the New Jersey state and federal courts is required. Requires strong academic performance in law school and at least five years of law-related experience after graduation, preferably in a pro bono or low-bono legal services program like the Rutgers Law Associates Fellowship Program. Exemplary professional, administrative, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills required. Excellent oral and written proficiency required, as well as strong organizational abilities. Some evening hours and travel required. High proficiency in Excel and Clio Office Management software and its reporting capabilities are required.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
J.D. and New Jersey bar admission are required because the position requires the holder to provide direct legal services to low and moderate-income New Jersey residents and supervise the New Jersey legal services provided by the fellows in the program. Experience in legal services or low-bono environments is essential to managing the intake and billing of this special clientele. Data collection and management drawn from the Clio Office database is essential for all fiscal management aspects of this position and for oversight of the qualitative and quantitative work of each of the post-doctoral fellows.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Research Administration and Proposal Submission System (“RAPSS”) or similar grant management software is preferred.
