Responsibilities and practice:
Dentons US LLP is seeking an associate with 2-4 years of experience, strong writing skills and academic credentials to join our Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy practice. The associate hired for this position will focus primarily on bankruptcy and insolvency-related transactions and litigation matters. Expected responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, and chapter 11 related documents, including plan, acquisition, and financing documents
  • Researching federal bankruptcy and state law debtor/creditor issues
  • Researching cross-border and chapter 15 issues
  • Assisting with discovery and litigation in connection with adversary and contested matters

Pursuant with states' laws, the salary range for this position is $235,000 - $310,000, based on experience. Based on years of experience, Dentons US LLP associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Position Requirements:
Personal skills/attributes:
  • Superb analytical skills and thinks creatively
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to produce clear, concise, and thoughtful work product
  • Organized and able to prioritize assignments effectively, including handling multiple matters in a timely and efficient matter
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to client service

Technical skills:
  • At least 2-4 years legal experience is required
  • Prior law firm experience is preferred
  • Chapter 11 debtor experience is preferred

Other Requirements:
  • Must be licensed to practice law and be in good standing in the state where the hired candidate will be practicing. Washington, DC candidates may also be licensed in any US state or territory if they are also eligible to waive into the Washington DC Bar pursuant to DC Court of Appeals Rule 49 and agree to apply for an Exception to admission
  • Bankruptcy clerkship experience is a plus
