The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Research Librarian / Assistant Professor, William S. Boyd School of Law [R0148910].

Role of The Position
The Research Librarian / Assistant Professor Is Part of A Team of Jd-Ed Librarians Who Support Student Learning and Faculty Scholarship at The William S. Boyd School of Law and Who Otherwise Contribute to The Mission of The Law School. This Is a Tenure-Track Law Library Faculty Position. Law Library Faculty Work with Law Faculty on Scholarship and Teaching, Interact with Students Through Teaching and Outreach, Engage in Law School Activities and Initiatives, and Participate in Law School Governance.

An Important Component of Each Law Library Faculty Member's Responsibilities Is Participation in The Faculty Liaison Program Which Pairs Law Library and Law Faculty. Through the Liaison Program, Law Library Faculty Undertake Complex Research Projects and Otherwise Support Faculty Scholarship by Contributing to Law School Colloquia and Other Events, Providing Current Awareness Services, and Advising on And Tracking Publication Metrics and Impact. Law Library Faculty Are Supported in Their Research by Law Student Research Assistants Employed by The Law Library.

In Addition to Guest Lecturing in Law School Classes and Developing and Participating in Library Instructional Outreach, Law Library Faculty, as Needs and Expertise Allow, May Also Teach Formal, For-Credit, Upper-Level Classes in The Law School, Most Often, but Not Exclusively, Focused on Subject-Specific Research Sources, Strategies, and Methods.

Over Time and As Interests and Needs Are Assessed, Librarians Will Have the Opportunity to Take Responsibility for Particular Aspects of Library Services. The Wiener-Rogers Law Library Is the Largest Law Library in The State. the Library's Collections Are Diverse and Represent the Interests of A Faculty Engaged in A Wide Range of Scholarship and Committed to Service to The Community and The Profession. the Law Library's Special Collections Include a Large Documentary Film Collection (nearly 3000 Titles) and The Archives of The Las Vegas Chapter of The National Bar Association. as The only Research-Level Law Library in The State of Nevada, the Law Library Plays an Important Role in Ensuring Access to Legal Information Throughout Nevada.

The William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a Public, State-Supported Law School, Is the Only Law School in Nevada. the Law School Offers Day and Evening J.D. Programs to More than 400 Students, as Well as An Ll.M in Gaming Law and Regulation. the Law School Is Recognized Nationally for Its Lawyering Process Program, the Saltman Center for Dispute Resolution, and Its Clinical Programs.

Minimum Qualifications:
This Position Requires a J.D. Degree from An Aba-Accredited Law School and A Master's Degree in Library or Information Science from An Accredited College or University as Recognized by The United States Department of Education And/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (chea) However, Applicants Who Have a Jd Degree and Will Complete the Master's Degree Within a Reasonable Period of Time, or (ii) Are Enrolled in Joint Degree Programs and Who Will Complete Both Degrees Within Nine Months from The Date of Hire, Will Also Be Considered.
