Description:

A Government Entity is seeking a full-time, highly qualified attorney to join the bar disciplinary section of our Civil Staff Legal Department. Duties for this position may include reviewing records, preparing reports, and drafting proposed opinions on bar disciplinary matters filed under the Supreme Court's original jurisdiction.

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Member of the Louisiana State Bar in good standing
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Knowledge of Louisiana law, and legal precedents, particularly in the areas of ethics and professional responsibility.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred: At least two years of experience as a law clerk or research attorney in an appellate court setting, or prior experience in attorney regulation and disciplinary matters.
