Role Overview:
You will represent clients in removal and deportation proceedings before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals, handling cases involving cancellation of removal, asylum, withholding of removal, and bond hearings. You will work with both detained and non-detained clients and serve as a skilled advocate at every stage of their case.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent both detained and non-detained clients in immigration removal proceedings, including cases related to cancellation of removal, asylum, and bond hearings.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and engage in courtroom advocacy.
  • Implement department policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Maintain communication with clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring compassionate and effective representation.
  • Regular travel to jails, immigration courts, and detention centers in Central Texas to support client representation.

Qualifications:
  • Language: Must Be Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience: 1–5 years of experience as an immigration attorney with a focus on removal defense.
  • Education & Licensing: JD degree from an accredited law school with an active license to practice law in any U.S. state; Texas Bar preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • EOIR Experience: Direct EOIR courtroom experience required, with demonstrated ability to manage cases independently from intake through hearing.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license for necessary travel within Central Texas.

Preferred Experience:
  • Prior experience handling cases with criminal history intersections or complex relief applications (e.g., asylum, CAT, withholding) is a plus.
  • Experience with VAWA, U-visa, or other humanitarian relief forms is a plus.

Salary Range: $95,000–$130,000 based on experience, plus annual performance bonus.

Location: Austin, TX (hybrid – 60% in office/40% remote) | San Antonio, TX (hybrid – 60% in office/40% remote)
