Job Summary:
Flora Legal Group is an Indianapolis-based immigration firm committed to serving the immigrant community. We are seeking an Associate Attorney (EOIR: Packet Review) with a heart and passion to help immigrants and a desire to thrive in a large, team-oriented immigration practice. To succeed in this role, you will need to possess enthusiasm for immigration law, strong interpersonal and communication skills, exceptional proofreading and time management skills, and the ability to work independently with little supervision. Fluency in both Spanish and English is required. This position will be dedicated to pre-hearing packet review and will serve as a backup for Webex immigration hearings, including detained hearings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts initial review of all EOIR team legal packets to ensure accuracy and completeness of EOIR filings;
  • Serves as backup for EAD review as needed;
  • Coordinates and communicates with assigned attorneys regarding individual calendar hearing packet review;
  • Represents clients in Webex immigration hearings (including detained hearings) periodically;
  • Remains current on processes and requirements for new types of filings;
  • Attends various team and firm meetings when requested;
  • Enters information in case management software to include notes, client correspondence, hours utilized, and matter updates;
  • Completes all tasks in case management software by due date;
  • Time tracks hours worked in accordance with the firm's time tracking policy.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a licensed attorney in good standing to apply; Juris Doctorate required;
  • At least 5+ years of applicable immigration law experience is preferred;
  • Demonstrated experience managing a large case load;
  • Fluent in Spanish (reading, writing, speaking);
  • Passion for immigration law with strong background in removal proceedings;
  • Have excellent communication skills and enjoy helping underserved populations;
  • Be self-motivated, intellectually curious, and possess a strong work ethic;
  • Enjoy continuous learning in a fast-paced and friendly work environment.
