We currently have an opportunity for a Regional Counsel in East Elmhurst, NY. As Regional Counsel you will report to the VP, Director of Legal Department.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial, construction and real estate contracts.
  • Develop strategies for resolving disputes and claims and supervise outside counsel on litigation.
  • Represent An Infrastructure & Construction Company in mediations and arbitrations.
  • Draft corporate documents, joint venture, and partnership agreements.
  • Advise senior-level executives on legal, operational, compliance and regulatory risk and corporate governance matters.
  • Develop deep relationships with our construction project teams and key business partners.
  • Develop and implement strategies across the organization to improve our legal processes and reduce risk.
  • Tour our projects throughout the region.

Qualifications:
  • Education: A Juris Doctor degree (NY tri-state area law school preferred)
  • NY or CA Bar
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial litigation and some contract drafting experience.
  • Public contracting/infrastructure experience in construction is required
  • Experience working with government contracts or public-sector procurement.
  • Substantive prior experience directly advising clients on complex matters.
  • Solid experience in balancing business needs and risk

Skills:
  • Fluency in Lexis, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint and proficiency in MS Excel (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Analytical skills and ability to develop reasoning independently.
  • Brilliant writing skills - ability to craft compelling and persuasive narratives and draft favorable agreements without legalese.
  • A high EQ and IQ
  • Meticulous attention to detail
