We currently have an opportunity for a Regional Counsel in East Elmhurst, NY. As Regional Counsel you will report to the VP, Director of Legal Department.

Responsibilities:

Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial, construction and real estate contracts.
Develop strategies for resolving disputes and claims and supervise outside counsel on litigation.
Represent An Infrastructure & Construction Company in mediations and arbitrations.
Draft corporate documents, joint venture, and partnership agreements.
Advise senior-level executives on legal, operational, compliance and regulatory risk and corporate governance matters.
Develop deep relationships with our construction project teams and key business partners.
Develop and implement strategies across the organization to improve our legal processes and reduce risk.
Tour our projects throughout the region.

Qualifications:

Education: A Juris Doctor degree (NY tri-state area law school preferred)
NY or CA Bar
Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial litigation and some contract drafting experience.
Public contracting/infrastructure experience in construction is required
Experience working with government contracts or public-sector procurement.
Substantive prior experience directly advising clients on complex matters.
Solid experience in balancing business needs and risk

Skills:

Fluency in Lexis, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint and proficiency in MS Excel (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Analytical skills and ability to develop reasoning independently.
Brilliant writing skills - ability to craft compelling and persuasive narratives and draft favorable agreements without legalese.
A high EQ and IQ
