Our firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Transactional Associate Attorney with 5+ years of substantive experience to join our growing real estate practice. The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions and financings, and the ability to independently manage matters from inception through closing.
Work Environment:
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney to join a growing transactional practice supporting bank financing, commercial real estate, lending, and acquisition/sale transactions. This attorney would also be collaborating with experienced attorneys and sophisticated clients.
Responsibilities:
- Handle a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, refinances, purchases and loans.
- Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, amendments, assignments, and related transaction documents.
- Represent clients in connection with financing transactions, including acquisition financing, refinancing, and loan documentation.
- Conduct and analyze due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, environmental, and other property-related matters.
- Prepare and negotiate commercial leases and related agreements.
- Coordinate with clients, lenders, brokers, title companies, surveyors, and other professionals throughout the transaction process.
- Manage transactions efficiently and effectively, including meeting deadlines and coordinating closings.
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to clients regarding transactional matters and potential risks.
- Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and other practice groups on complex matters.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- 5+ years of substantive real estate transactional experience.
- Strong experience with commercial real estate transactions and related documentation.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Commercial acquisitions and dispositions
- Commercial leasing
- Real estate finance and lending
- Joint ventures
- Development transactions
- Title and survey review
- Entity formation and structuring related to real estate transactions
